#1 Tool for Achieving Optimal Health

Earlier this week I wrote about starting the fall fresh. Summer is an incredibly busy season with trips, the kids being home, and special projects…the list goes on and on. With such a list, you might have gotten behind on taking care of yourself-putting off your goals to improve your health. Perhaps you’re feeling a little overwhelmed and you don’t know where to start with your goals. Whether it’s feeling like you have a few pounds to release, you want to improve your eating habits to have more energy and to really get going experience life to its fullest, I’m going to give you my best strategy to accomplishing all of that-cook at home! I know it sounds too simple, but it’s true!

I get that life is busy and you don’t have a lot of time-I’m right there with you. I love eating meals from home, but I don’t love spending a lot of time in the kitchen and frankly, it’s not where I want to spend all my free time. I’m here to tell you though, you don’t have to have a lot of time, you just have to make planning a priority.

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”

-Benjamin Franklin

There are a number of fabulous resources out there that support your ability to meal plan so you don’t get caught in front of the fridge gorging on whatever you can get your hands on…trust me, I’ve been there too. Geniuses like Robyn & Quinn from Healthy Cooking Camp and Jess Dang from the Meal Planning Awareness program give you the tools to make meal planning stress-free and easy–just what we all need, right!

Although I’ve come a long way in the way of planning our meals for the week, I am really looking forward to learning more cooking basics from Jess Dang’s Cooksmarts and Meal Planning Awareness program. I love to cook very simple, healthy meals but often times I feel like I get stuck in my comfort zone. I am so excited to expand my knowledge of preparing new dishes and using my kitchen tools to the fullest!
